Many people enjoy helping others and being in a learning environment.  There are many community college teaching jobs available throughout the United States.  The abundance of jobs in community colleges is rising each year.  Students are realizing the advantages to taking community college courses for their degrees or prior to transferring into a traditional college.  As a result, there is an increasing need for community college teachers and the number of jobs available is on the rise.

  Determine the student and teacher ratio when selecting a college to apply for a teaching position.  Ask if you have the option of limiting your class size if you prefer to teach smaller groups of students than what the class ratio is for the community college.  Also, determine if you will have a teaching assistant to help you if the classes are large.  This will make it easier during class exams and for reviewing homework or class assignments.  Remember that since community college teaching jobs are so abundant, you can afford to take your time in selecting a college to work for.  There are many jobs and you are in demand which enables you to have top choice when making your decision.

   Select a community college that enables you to have some flexibility in your schedule.  Also, find out if you will be required to maintain a virtual classroom area and even virtual teaching office online for the college.  Many of the colleges require that teachers provide the syllabus, required reading material reference list, grades and class announcements on the Internet in a specific area set up for each class.  Some even require that classes provide additional material to what is provided in the physical classroom to the Internet as well. You will want to select a community college that does not have these type of requirements if you are intimidated by the Internet or not good at technology based applications.

There are many different fields that you can specialize in when you consider a career as a teacher. These are excellent for community college teaching jobs. Just make certain to fill out all the information correctly on your application, provide references and do well in your interview. Even though these positions are extremely abundant you don't want to be too relaxed that you don't give your best impression when you make your applications. There are many other teachers applying for positions as well. You can do very well with a career in community college teaching.
